Janesce

Janesce is a certified organic skincare company with a bio-dynamic farm in the Adelaide Hills that was founded in the 1980s. I have been proud to be a part of Janesce since 2017 and have been fortunate to add many things to my skill set during my time there.

As Creative Director, I am responsible for leading the company's visual identity and supervising all aspects of the artistic/digital marketing department.

Packaging

I led a comprehensive packaging redesign for over 100 labels and cartons, seamlessly blending the brand’s 40-year legacy with modern appeal. The project drew inspiration from classic apothecaries and art deco aesthetics, creating a timeless yet forward-looking visual identity.

Illustration

Botanical and portrait illustrations

All illustrations are meticulously crafted using a blend of Illustrator and Photoshop, drawing from an extensive plant illustration library that enhances each project. Responsibilities also include creating detailed botanical line drawings of every ingredient in each product.

  • For each illustration, I am given a short brief and a deadline

  • I am responsible for all master files and distribution

Website design + management

Website re-design 2019

Due to the fact that Janesce is predominantly a naturopathic skincare brand, it was necessary to place a heavy emphasis on the ingredients. This required me to not only provide accurate ingredient lists, but also present this information in a manner that our customers could easily comprehend and feel connected to. I accomplished this by drawing unique icons for each ingredient in Janesce products. I designed over 130 different icons in total.

  • Initial design and ongoing management of the aesthetics, layout, animations and imagery

  • I manage all products, services, and sales, including customer service

  • The Janesce University education platform is connected to the website, and accessible by invitation. I have managed the implementation of the tool handle its maintenance

Maintaining a legacy

Our advertising campaigns highlight the brand's extensive knowledge, which is one of our key selling factors. The overwhelming majority of Janesce customers have been loyal to the brand for many years, with some even using the products for more than three decades. New clients require information and knowledge. Our loyal customers must be reassured that we will not drastically alter our fundamental values, but that new and exciting things will occur.

  • Coordinate with the marketing team and all third parties involved in our advertising campaigns.

  • Work with the company director and social media team to manage campaigns.
